Molecular Weight	The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 70.3 kDa after removal of the signal peptide. The apparent molecular mass of hFc-TSHR(23-410) is approximately 70-130 kDa due to glycosylation.
Purity	The purity of the protein is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and Coomassie blue staining.

Background	The protein encoded by this gene is a membrane protein and a major controller of thyroid cell metabolism. The encoded protein is a receptor for thyrothropin and thyrostimulin, and its activity is mediated by adenylate cyclase. Defects in this gene are a cause of several types of hyperthyroidism.
